Women’s Hormone Therapy
Next Steps
Women’s hormones affect so much more than our fertility.
When we’re younger, too much estrogen can lead to a condition called PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which can affect the regularity of our menstrual cycle, ability to conceive, as well as physical appearance by influencing the growth of facial hair and acne.
As we age, we can experience unpleasant symptoms of our hormone production declining, prior to entering menopause. This is called perimenopause. This can include symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats, insomnia, mood change, changes in concentration and short term memory, low libido, vaginal dryness and headache.
HRT – hormone replacement therapy – can be one avenue for managing these conditions. We utilize a combination of Estrogen and Progesterone to help manage symptoms of menopause.
HRT is prescription only, and carries risk. If you have history of certain hormonal cancers, this may not be a safe therapy for you.
If you have a history of breast, ovarian, cervical or endometrial cancer, are in remission, and are experiencing perimenopausal side effects as a result of your completed treatment, Parker Mason Wellness will require clearance from your oncologist prior to initiating HRT.
Parker Mason Wellness completes a full and thorough health history and work up prior to prescribing any hormonal therapies.
Please note, the providers at Parker Mason Wellness are not fertility experts, and may refer you to a fertility expert if your goal is assistance with conception.
